Breather hose for gxv120

This post is for Vocegrande! He's missing a breather hose off his hr214, so here are some pictures that might help him find a replacement. It looks like a regular fuel hose from the auto parts store would do a pretty good job of replacing it...but if your engine blows up, don't blame me ;)

Let us know how the new coil works out Vocegrande!

  1. Thanks for those pictures, Jack. I found the GXV130/16o manual online and have the same drawing as in your first pic. That shows the crankcase end just using an angled cut on the tube. The Honda part diagrams show two versions with one of them using some sort of adapter on the crankcase end of the hose. That adapter is the piece I have been wanting to 'see'.

However, given the engine manual version, I may just cut the hose at a diagonal and leave it at that.

    1. Obviously not enough coffee yet. That should have been GXV 120/160 manual.

  2. New ignition coil and she fired right up. Some blue smoke at first, but it hasn't run in over a year so that's to be expected.

  3. Hi, I've read all of your posts. I have a hr214 sx 1983. runs great until I added too much oil. then I cleaned it so well it does not run. I think it is the ignition coil or stop switch. I also have the governor spring and cant figure out which holes to put it in.

    Thanks

Did you ever find the adapter that went into the crankcase?
